Katherine Anson is a Spanish language and literature teacher at St. Mark’s School of Texas. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona in Latin American Literature and Cultural Studies. Her articles have been published in Chasqui: Revista de literatura latinoamericana, and Hispanic Journal. Anson’s research concentrates on citizenship, cultural resistance, and urban studies. She is currently working on a book manuscript entitled “The Urban and the Profane” and researching the resonances of the “Black Lives Matter” protests in Afro-Colombian grassroots organizations at the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic.
