Reframing the History of Political Thought

Working from the perspective that the history of political thought is primarily around questions posed by human beings about forms of human association , ways of life and questions about freedom, equality and dignity amongst others , we want to explore the potentialities of a global history of political thought. We will investigate the emergence of different political concepts which have emerged from the Global South as well as review the ways in which the meanings of words and enunciations around for example liberty and freedom become a new political language having distinctive meanings. Similarly, we are interested in exploring the possibilities of a history of political concepts from below, rediscovering forgotten or neglected traditions of critical thought. And, more in general, we aim at redefining the spatial coordinates of political concepts, outside Eurocentric foundations
